In the golden age of Islamic civilization, saffron-infused ink was reserved for the most important manuscripts. Calligraphers in Baghdad, Cordoba, and Cairo used it to illuminate Quranic texts and scientific treatises. Our Saffron Ink follows this tradition, using genuine Kashmiri saffron threads dissolved in a base of gum arabic and distilled water. The resulting ink writes a warm gold that deepens to a rich amber over months and years.
