Oud — also known as agarwood — is perhaps the most precious natural aromatic in existence. It forms when the Aquilaria tree, found in the dense forests of Southeast Asia, becomes infected with a specific mold. The tree's defense mechanism produces a dark, fragrant resin that saturates the heartwood over decades. Our oud chips are sourced from trees aged a minimum of 20 years, hand-selected by fifth-generation oud specialists who can identify the richest resin content by touch alone.
